Children’s Services Participation Team
The Child’s Voice
Sandwell’s children and young people can have their say on issues that matter to them, and the Participation Team will listen to what they have to say, so that Sandwell Council can make things better for children and young people in the future.
The Participation Team runs various groups and events that children and young people can get involved with, which are run in partnership with different agencies and organisations, internal and external to the council:
- Looked After Young People’s Board (11 to 18-year-olds)
- Care Leavers Forum (18 to 24-year-olds)
- Young People’s Safeguarding Group
- SHAPE our Future
- Looked After Young People’s Youth Club
The team also provide training for professionals and carers, and facilitate young people’s interview panels, so children and young people can have their say about who is recruited to jobs in children’s services.
