Sandwell Unborn Baby Network

The Aim of Sandwell’s Unborn Baby Network is to strengthen and develop communication and shared working practices to ensure the right support is delivered, in the right place at the right time for  unborn babies. Referrals will be accepted for those unborn babies that sit within Universal Services, Single Agency Support and Multi Agency Early Help. If it becomes clear there is a risk of significant harm or immediate safeguarding concerns the referring professional will be asked to submit a Multi Agency Request Form to request Social Care  Support.

Where neglect is suspected an appropriate practitioner will be identified to start the Graded Care Profile 2 (GCP2) Assessment.

Meetings will take place on the last Friday of every month. They will focus on pregnant women whom professionals may have some concerns about including, but not exclusive to, drug/alcohol misuse, domestic violence, learning difficulties, mental health, vulnerable teenagers & adults.

Sandwell’s Unborn Baby Network strives to improve outcomes for unborn babies. Through Multi Agency information sharing, early identification of safeguarding concerns and well placed intervention we can make a difference.

All referrals in to Sandwell’s Unborn Baby Network must to be received by the 3rd Friday of every month. Any referrals received after this date will be discussed at the following months meeting.
