Launch of the consultation on revisions to the 'Working Together to Safeguard Children' guidance and draft regulations

The Children and Social Work Act 2017 (the Act) received Royal Assent on 27 April 2017.  On Monday 23 October 2017, two consultations on guidance to accompany the provisions introduced by Sections 1-7 of the Act were launched by the Department for Education.
On Wednesday 25 October a further consultation on the revisions to the statutory safeguarding guidance Working Together to Safeguard Children and on draft regulations which will underpin legislation introduced by the Act were launched.  The Department for Educationare are also consulting on new child death review practice guidance. The consultation closes on Sunday 31st December.  During this time period, responses can be made via the online consultation at https://consult.education.gov.uk/child-protection-safeguarding-and-family-law/working-together-to-safeguard-children-revisions-t/  and / or through attending upcoming consultation seminars which are being held at a range of locations across the country.
